The First Day of Christmas
On the First Day of Christmas my true love gave to me a partridge in a pear tree! I am starting a new series for the twelve days of Christmas! I am sorry if I offend you by celebrating this holiday, it is the holiday I celebrate.
The photo is from here.
For the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me a great braided detail updo. There are a lot of steps here but in general this hair style is very easy! Hope you like it!!
- Start with your natural hair.
- Take a two inch section on either side of your hair and clip it back, along with any bangs or fringe that you may have.
- Then separate the hair above your ears on both sides and clip both back and out of the way.
- Take about a 2 inch section below your ear on either sides and clip up.
- Separate the very top of the hair, from the hair that is left and clip it out of the way.
- Tease the remaining hair on the bottom.
- Take the last section clipped and let it down.
- Smooth out hair.
- Pull hair into a ponytail, and secure it with a hair tie.
- Let the rest of the sections down.
- Pull bangs or fringe to the front (optional).
- Make a zig-zag part.
- Braid one of the side sections start loose then continue all the way down and secure with a hair tie.
- Repeat on the other side.
- Take ponytail and split it into two.
- Braid those two sections loosely all the way down and secure with hair tie.
- Loosen the top of the hair at the ponytail base.
- Turn ponytail under and create a little pouf.
- Secure that with pins.
- Pull one of pony tail braids to the top of the head.
- Lift up section of hair wherever your ponytail braid ends.
- Stick your finger through that section to hollow out an area for the end of braid.
- Stick end of braid through and pin into place.
- Repeat steps 20-23 on other side.
- Pull one of top braids around the bottom of the pouf you already created.
- Lift up ponytail braid or section of hair where it ends and pin it into place.
- Repeat steps 25 and 26 on other side.
- Separate two remaining sections.
- Take one of the sections and begin to braid away from the side of the head that it starts on.
- Braid all the way down and secure with a hair tie.
- Wrap that braid and pin it alongside the other braids.
- Repeat steps 29-31 on other side.
- Your done!!
