Recreate the Look #1

The Chanel Paris-Bombay Show Makeup

I have the Chanel App on my phone, and I couldn't help but noticing that they recently had a new show! Or it's not new and I haven't been paying enough attention... Anyway, this show was amazing, it was very glamorous and ancient world- esque. There were a lot of looks that reminded me of Cleopatra, with her collar necklaces. Also, the majority of the looks were decked out with jewels, or made in shiny fabric. Needless to say... Gorgeous!
One thing that caught my attention was the makeup. The outfits themselves, were very feminine and soft so the harsh black eyes added an edge that made for a great, dramatic effect. The makeup itself consisted of flawless skin; lightly bronzed and flushed checks; black eyeshadow (a slight cat eye effect); and neutral lips. I would recommend this look for a very special occasion, where you have a very neutral dress. You will be a showstopper!

Face

(Make sure to have a light touch with the blush, bronzer, and highlight.)
  1. Start with your face washed and apply a moisturizer.
  2. Then, apply your favorite face primer (optional).
  3. Next, apply a full coverage foundation using a brush like the Mac 187.
  4. Using a kabuki brush put on your favorite setting powder.
  5. Find a light bronzer, only several shades darker than your skin tone place that in the hollow of your checks. You can find this by sucking in your checks.
  6. Apply a light pink blush to the apples of your checks. You can find your apples by smiling.
  7. Using a small, more detailed face brush, apply a highlight above the apples of your cheeks, under the arch of your eyebrows, down the center of your nose, and above your cupids bow.

Eyes
  1.  Put a tape strip from outer corner of your eye to the end of your eyebrow.
  2. Prime your eyes with a primer or a dark paint pot with your ring finger, be careful not to tug.
  3. Using a large smudge brush apply your blackest black and create a line along the tape. This will create a cat eye, so depending on how dramatic you want it, it will be longer or shorter. (Longer- dramatic; Shorter- Not as dramatic)
  4. Pat on the black with the same all over your lid. Be careful to not go far above the your crease. Also smudge this down onto your lower lash line (the  thicker the line the more dramatic). Be sure to connect this line to the rest of your eyeshadow on your lid.
  5. Connect the line you made along the tape with the rest of the shadow on your lid with a curved line that dips downward slightly. This will create the cat eye effect.
  6. Using a blending brush, swirl your brush slightly in a soft, medium brown and blend out the edges, to create a softer effect. Focus your blending on the outer half of your eye.
  7. Apply a black liquid or gel eyeliner to your upper lash line. You want the line to start thinner at the inner corner and get thicker as you move outwards.
  8. Then, apply a black pencil eyeliner to your water line (piece of skin above your lower lash line).
  9. Apply your favorite mascara. I would also recommend fake lashes, because your eyeshadow is so dark.
  10. Finally, use a fan brush to sweep away any fall out. (optional)

Lips

  1. Slightly rub a toothbrush along your lips (to exfoliate them). This is optional.
  2. Apply a neutral lip liner to your lips. Make sure to fill them in.
  3. Then apply a light pink lipstick to your lips.
  4. Find a light gloss and apply that only to the middle of your lips. This should be a small amount.
